Most of your happiness in life is based on the reality you create and the reality you create is based on the expectations you have. Where do expectations come from?
Try this: "no expectations, fewer disappointments." It's that simple. NO definitely not. You have expectations on people only whom you know or love. When you believe and trust someone and claim to know the person better, you tend to build expectation.
The best way to resolve this is to speak up your needs and your likes and dislikes to your partner. Instead of being consistently confused by what you "expect" from your partner (and seldom get), focus and communicate your "needs."
Always remember “You need two hands to clap”. If something wrong is happening in your relationship both are the contributor to the problem, may be less or more. Try and analyze your mistakes and try to avoid them.
When you are with a person for so long time you must know what is the like and dislike of the person. All expectations are directly related to your likes, dislikes and needs. Hence if I know the person better, I can live up to his/her expectations. So try to understand your partner the most to continue a healthy relationship.
If you want your relationships to be in the 10% that survive and grow, you need do only one thing. Love who they are rather than who you expect them to be.
